Where do you feel what you feel?

Soul Paint approaches the body as a map of our inner world. In virtual reality, you are invited to notice where and how an emotion manifests itself, then give it form. Through 3D drawing, colour, movement and embodied interaction, sensations become visible.

You gradually create a portrait of your own emotional state: a work that does not attempt to explain what you feel, but offers it a language when words are not enough.

The experience then opens towards others. You can explore the creations of other participants and discover how differently the same inner world can be experienced and represented. Introspection becomes an exercise in empathy and a reflection on the diversity of human experience.

Created by Sarah Ticho and Niki Smit, with the support of researchers and behavioural science specialists, and narrated by Rosario Dawson, Soul Paint exists at the intersection of art, technology and self-exploration.

Niki Smit

Niki Smit is an interactive artist and co-founder of the Dutch studio Monobanda. His work combines play, movement and technology to create experiences in which the body becomes an active part of the story. His practice sits at the intersection of art, interactive design and research into new forms of storytelling.

In Soul Paint, the two creators bring together introspection and embodied expression, play and technology, in an experience that proposes a new language for the things we feel but cannot always put into words.
